The hare and the tortoise were actually good friends. The tortoise was depressed and wanted to kill himself, so the hare challenged the tortoise to a race. In the race, the hare pretended to fall asleep, and let the tortoise win. By the end, the tortoise was not thinking depressing thoughts anymore.
